Azucena Munoz
My name is Azucena Munoz and I graduate in 2015 from UVM (Universidad del Valle de Mexico) in Guadalajara, Jalisco Mexico. I first came to the US with a A2 Visa as a foreign consular officer through the Mexican Consulate in San Jose. When working at the Mexican Consulate in the protection department, I was the liaison between the Mexican Consulate and law enforcement and immigrant community agencies to provide workshops and bring awareness to the Mexican Immigrant community about their rights, preventive protection, and the challenges they face as an immigrant in the U.S. Also, I was the main coordinator for the VAIM Ventanilla de Atención Integral a la Mujer or Comprehensive to Women Program which aided women with comprehensive assistance in particularly immigration topics such as U and VAWA Visas. Working in the consulate made me grow a passion for assisting the immigrant community due to the high demand. In my spare time I like to go on a bike rides and shopping.
